Pray this …

Prayer for Guidance

Heavenly Father, You have promised to guide me, instruct me, and direct my steps.
I need to hear Your voice, know Your will, sense Your guidance.
I acknowledge You as the One who is wholly and uniquely able and qualified
to lead and direct my life.
I thank You that You have not asked me to try and figure everything out,
to trust in my own reasoning, or to rely upon my understanding of what is best for me.

Father, I receive Your wisdom, knowing that every decision You make is the right decision
and the one that is always the best that can be made. You do all things well!
I trust in Your timing to bring into my life the right things at the right time,
and to keep from me anything I am not ready to receive, no matter how good it may appear.

I believe that as You guide me I will find strength in Your grace, power in Your Spirit,
assurance in Your Word, contentment in Your provision, fulfillment in Your purpose.
I ask that You will open every door that needs to be opened and close every door that
needs to be closed. Lead me and bring me into Your desired place.
I want to walk each day with Your peace in my heart.
Thank You, Father, that no matter what, I can put my complete trust in You.

Prayer of Release

I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard
what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.
2 Timothy 1:12 NLT

Heavenly Father, I release to You the burdens that I have been carrying,
burdens that You never intended for me to carry.
I cast all my cares upon You—all my worries, all my fears.
You have told me not be anxious about anything,
but rather to bring everything to You in prayer with thankfulness.

Father, calm my restless spirit, quiet my anxious heart, still my troubling thoughts
with the assurance that You are in control.
I let go of my grip upon the things I have been hanging onto, with opened hands I come to You.
I release to Your will all that I am trying to manipulate;
I release to Your authority all that I am trying to control;
I release to Your timing all that I have been striving to make happen.

I thank You for Your promise to sustain me, preserve me, and guard all that
I have entrusted to Your keeping. Protect my heart and mind with Your peace,
the peace that passes all understanding.
Father, may Your will be done in my life, in Your time, and in Your way.

Prayer for patience

Jesus, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to me.
Thank You that the Holy Spirit is the source and the river of Your life being lived in me.
Thank You that I can fully and confidently trust in the work of the Holy Spirit in my life,
for the Holy Spirit’s nature is exactly the same as Yours.

Holy Spirit, I yield to Your control. According to the Word of God that You have inspired,
I acknowledge that the impatient demands of my flesh have been crucified with Christ
and shall not have dominion over me.
I take the control of my life out of my own hands and place it into Yours.

Spirit of God, I receive, by faith, the fruit of Your patience. I turn away from the attitude
that insists things must work out according to my timetable, my plans, and my expectations.
Bring me into agreement with the ways You work and Your perfect timing in my life.
Produce in me a quiet heart and fill me with the fruit of joyfulness as I learn to wait upon the Lord. Work in me, Your beautiful work of righteousness.

Prayer for change

Father, change me.
Change my heart to love You more deeply, change my mind to know You
more fully, change my will to serve You more completely. Change me from the inside out.
Change my interests, my motives, my desires—may the things that are the most important to You,
be the things that are the most important to me.

Jesus, change me.
Bring Your mighty rivers to the dry places of my soul.
Feed me with the living bread that can satisfy my hungry spirit.
Immerse my heart in the fountains of Your all-redeeming love.
Change my ashes into beauty, my sorrow into song, my restlessness into peace,
my darkness into light.
May the pathway You want me to walk, be the pathway I fully follow.

Holy Spirit, change me.
Be my Teacher— if I am to know truth it must come through Your revelation;
if I am to have understanding it must be heard through Your voice;
if I am to have clarity it must be seen through Your light;
if I am to have wisdom it must be known through Your instruction;
if I am to experience change it must come through Your power.
May the anointing of Your abiding presence be the oil that is poured upon me.

Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 36:26-27, Psalm 40:3, Isaiah 43:19, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15

Prayer of Peace

Lord Jesus, I thank You that You are the Prince of Peace and that You have promised to
give me Your peace. I receive Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding,
the peace that assures me of Your presence, the peace that confirms Your love,
the peace that guards my every thought and each emotion.

Thank You that You have come, not to trouble me, but to give me Your rest;
not to confuse me, but to give me clarity; not to bind me, but to free me;
not to stress me, but to quiet me.
Thank You for a peace that endures the trial, overcomes the battle, conquerors the foe,
and keeps me steady through the storm.

Thank You, Lord, for complete peace, for perfect peace, for a peace that
keeps my heart from being troubled. Come now and fill me with Your peace.
Thank You for the perfect peace that comes when I put my trust in You.
Let it wash over me and flood my innermost being.
Show me the ways of peace, keep in the paths of peace,
guide me in the decisions that lead to peace. Jesus, be my peace today.

Prayer of Hope

Father, thank You for being the God of hope and my hope.
You alone are the source and the reason for my hope.
Because of You, I can pray in hope; walk in hope; believe in hope; endure in hope;
overcome in hope; live in hope.

When I look to the future I have hope because You are already in the future.
I have a future that is secure because You are my future.
Father, it is Your hope that frees from the despair of hopelessness and the insecurity of false hope.

When I look ahead, I do not see the details clearly, but I see You, the One who is
in all the details of what is ahead. I believe in Your plan and purpose for my life.
You have assured me that I will never be disappointed as I trust in You.

Thank You for the confidence Your hope gives me to be faithful today and
to move forward in the pathway You have for my tomorrows.
I put my expectations, not in others, but in You.
I am confident that all Your desires for me are good.
The hope You give me brings happiness and rejoicing to my heart.

Thank You, Father, for being the author of all the chapters of my life that are yet to come.
Thank You that my life will have a happy ending because I will be with You forever,
in the place that You have prepared for me and for all those who have put their trust
in Your salvation through Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer to see Jesus

Jesus, I want to see You, for no other face can show me the Father,
and no other light can reveal His image.
I want to know what it fully means to have the eyes of my heart opened to behold
the beauty of the Lord, and to be in awe of Your glory. Reveal to me the grace upon Your countenance, the joy within Your spirit, and the love that moves Your heart toward mine.

Lord, I seek to move closer, to see clearer, and to be drawn nearer to You–
where there are gaps in my understanding of who You are, close them;
where there are blanks, fill them in;
where there is a lack of clarity, bring things into sharper focus.

Jesus, I know that in You there is no lack, for I am complete in You;
there is no emptiness, for I am made full in You;
there is no fragmentation, for I am made whole in You.
Thank You for being the image of God that I can see, the provision of God I can receive,
and the light of God that I can follow.

May You find in me a faith that is growing, a trust that is building,
and a love that is deepening day by day.
Jesus, I wait upon You, come to me; I listen for You, speak to me;
I look to You, show me; I lean on You, keep me.
I thank You for being the hope of my heart, the joy of my life, and the reason why I live.

Thankful for Grace

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV

Lord, thank You for Your grace. It is by grace that my heart was drawn to You—
grace that was extended, not in limited measure, but in abundance;
not sprinkled down, but poured out; not just enough to get me by,
but more than enough to bring me through as more than a conqueror.

I receive Your grace—I run to it, welcome it, embrace it.
Thank You for not putting Your grace on hold or hiding it away for safe keeping.
Thank You for making it available to me now, when I need it most.

Your grace brings me riches in my poverty; sufficiency in my inadequacy; abundance in my lack.
I thank You for being so gracious—for Your heart of grace that is reaching out,
for Your throne of grace that invites me in, and for Your gift of grace.
Thank You for Your only begotten Son, who has embraced me in His arms of mercy,
and who brings to me the fullness of grace and truth.

Prayer of Trust

Lord, I trust in You. I believe in You. I hope in You.
You are my confidence, my assurance.

I lean upon You, for You are my Rock;
I depend upon You, for You are my Provider;
I delight in You, for You are the joy of my life.
My heart rests in You; my faith responds to You,
my soul rejoices in You.

You are the true God who cannot lie and will not fail.
You are the Lord, the Almighty God,
the Creator of all things.
You are my Lord, My God, and my Creator.

You are my Keeper, and I am secure; You are my Father, and I am cared for;
You are my Counselor and I am guided;
You are my Shelter and I am safe.

I trust You in life—for the wisdom of Your ways, for the blessings of Your favor,
for the sufficiency of Your grace, for the power of Your Spirit,
and for the endurance that comes from Your strength.

Lord, I trust in You
—my mind trusts in You, my will trusts in You, my soul trusts in You—
from the depths of my being, I trust in You.

I trust You for all things.
I trust You with all things.

I trust You through all things.
I trust You above all things.

for You know the beginning from the end;
I entrust my hopes into Your hands, for You never lie;
I entrust my labors into Your hands, for You are my exceeding great reward;
I entrust my life into Your hands,
for You are the only one who does all things well.

Be Still and Know

BE - God, I say 'yes' to You.
I choose to allow Your way to shape me and Your will to direct me in what is best.
I surrender instead of resist, I yield instead of fight, I believe instead of doubt.

STILL - Father, may Your rest abide and Your peace abound within me.
Quiet all anxiety that troubles my thoughts and unsettles my emotions.
I bring my soul under the control of the Holy Spirit;
I stand steady upon the unmovable foundations of Your kingdom;
I receive the sufficiency of Your grace and the encouragement
of Your promises as you calm my soul.

AND KNOW - Lord, thank you that Your word is sure, unchanging, and indisputable.
Your word is true. I am certain. You have saved me from guessing,
wondering, wishing, or pretending. I know! I believe!

I AM GOD - You are who You say You are. You do what You say You do.
There is no other! You are the highest, the greatest, the best.
You have no weakness, no lack, and no equal. You are my God, and my Heavenly Father.
I find comfort in Your nearness, security in Your voice, courage in Your strength,
hope in Your promises. You are enough. More than enough! You are with me.
You are my refuge. I am safe in Your care.

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46:10-11

In His Hands

My steps, my times, my plans, Lord, are daily in your hands—
as a yielded servant, I wait on Your command.
I want to seek your kingdom and have You reign in me—
so I can live before You as one who’s been set free.
I cast my cares upon You and trust You for each day—
I want the way You planned for me to be what I obey.
I have no expectations, there only is Your will—
no need to strive or worry, my heart needs to be still.
As I learn about You, I’ve come to realize—
You do so many little things that take me by surprise.
Each day is an adventure as I set my heart on You—
my heart’s in constant wonder as I see the things You do.
I’ll let You do Your work, Lord, please have Your perfect way—
Thank You for Your mercies that are new for me each day!
